Our benefit package has been designed to provide you and your family with protection in the event of illness, injury, and the birth or adoption of a child, as well as to help provide for your retirement. Recognizing that everyone needs time off to relax, rest, and rejuvenate, we provide a generous earned leave benefit.

May Institute has designed a benefits package to provide employees and their family members/dependents with coverage in the event of illness, injury, the birth or adoption of a child, as well as to help provide for retirement. We also recognize that everyone needs time off to relax, rest and rejuvenate; we provide a generous earned leave benefit. The information below describes benefits in effect for benefit eligible employees hired/rehired on or after July 12, 2014. Plan documents are available in Human Resources and all benefits are subject to periodic review and revision.

Earned Leave

Earned Leave provides leave time to benefit eligible employees that can be used as vacation and/or sick leave. Earned leave time is based on hours worked and tenure, and is accrued each fiscal year. Unused leave time is transferred into the Employee’s Extended Illness bank if not used within the fiscal year.

Paid Maternity/Paternity Leave

Benefit eligible employees who have been employed for at least 2 years and qualify for maternity/paternity leave will be granted 5 days paid leave, in addition to their accrued leave time. Employees will receive a paid day of leave for each year of service, up to 10 days maximum.

Health and Dental Insurance

Benefit eligibility begins on the 61st day of employment.

For Employees Who are New England Residents

Blue Care Elect PPO $2,000 Deductible is available to all New England residents who are benefit eligible, working 30 hours or more per week. This plan does not have hospital cost sharing. The deductible must be satisfied before the plan pays for covered services.

HMO Blue New England $1,000 Deductible
with Hospital Cost Sharing is available to all New England residents who are benefit eligible, working 30 hours or more per week. Hospital cost sharing includes a tiered network of hospitals. Employees who choose an HMO must select a primary care Physician and obtain referrals for services not provided by their primary care doctor.

For Employees Who Reside Outside New England

Blue Care Elect PPO $2,000 Deductible is available to all non New England residents who are benefit eligible, working 30 hours or more per week. This plan does not have hospital cost sharing. Referrals to specialist are not required with a PPO plan.

Blue Care Elect PPO $1,000 Deductible
is available to all non New England residents who are benefit eligible, working 30 hours or more per week. Referrals to specialist are not required with a PPO plan.

Dental Insurance Option

May Institute provides dental insurance through a major outside vendor to eligible employees who choose to contribute at the Individual or Family plan level. Employees may use In Network or Out of Network dentists, there is no obligation to change dentists when joining the dental plan.

Retirement

403(b) Retirement Plan

All employees are eligible to participate in May Institute’s 403(b) retirement plan. Employees elect pre-tax contribution percentage amount and may change their contribution during the year. May Institute currently provides a company match.

Eligible employees may choose to participate or contribute to the following additional insurance options.

Vision Care Insurance

Vision care insurance is available for both benefit eligible employees and their family members. HR Representatives can provide details.

Healthcare Reimbursement (Flexible Spending Account)

Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts, “FSA’s”, can be used for out of pocket medical expenses, co-insurance payments, and/or vision, dental and other covered expenses on a pre-tax basis. Employees may elect to contribute, pre-tax, to a Healthcare FSA, up to the annual maximum.

Dependent Care Reimbursement (Flexible Spending Account)

Dependent Care reimbursement Flexible Spending Accounts, “FSA’s”, can be used for eligible childcare and/or elder care expenses. Eligible employees may elect to contribute to the annual maximum, on a pretax basis.

Basic Life and AD & D Insurance

May Institute provides group life insurance policy to full time employees working 30 hours or more per week at no cost.

Supplemental Life Insurance

Benefit eligible employees may purchase additional life insurance protection for themselves, their spouse or children.

Long Term Disability (LTD)

This benefit provides full time employees with a percentage of lost income if the employee elects to participate and disability qualifications are met.

Short Term Disability (STD)

This benefit provides employees who select it with wage protection in the event of a qualified, non-work related disability.

EAP (Employee Assistance Program)

May Institute’s Employee Assistance Program, “EAP” is available to employees to assist them with personal issues. Employees who would like to use the services of the EAP should contact their HR Representative.

Legal Plan

May Institute provides the opportunity for benefit eligible employees to participate in a legal plan through a major outside vendor. The legal plan offers direct access to a national network of attorneys for covered services.

Identity Theft Protection

Eligible employees may elect to participate in Identity Theft Protection through an outside vendor through payroll deduction. The vendor provides a secure solution that monitors, detects and guards against digital threats.

Group Hospital Confinement Indemnity Insurance

This insurance, if selected by eligible employees through payroll deduction, provides a lump sum benefit for covered hospital stays or a covered outpatient surgery.

Accident Insurance

May Institute offers accident insurance through payroll deduction for eligible employees who wish to cover any gaps based on a deductible, co-payments and out of pocket costs related to off the job accidents.

Veterinary Pet Insurance

Pet insurance, if selected, is available through payroll deduction and provides benefit eligible employees with coverage for veterinary medical expenses of a pet.

Auto and Homeowners Insurance

Eligible employees may decide to enroll in automobile or homeowner’s insurance through a major insurance company. The vendor offers easy enrollment through payroll deduction and provides a 5% discount.
